Dunnetts’ Article Wins Prestigious Award

A Soccer California article about a family that serves as a three-person referee team for over 100 CYSA games every year has won a 2008 Gold Hermes Creative Award. The story, which chronicled the refereeing duties of the Dunnett family – Bud, Cynthia and their son Nick — was honored by the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in the category of publication writing.

“I’m very pleased to have an article about one family’s extraordinary dedication to soccer recognized by the group,” says Deloris Roach, owner of TLW Public Relations and writer of the story.

The Hermes Awards competition is an international one, with entries from across the United States and several other countries. There were 4,000 entries this year with approximately 18 percent of them receiving a Gold Award. Other gold winners included large national corporations, such as the 3M Company, Disney Corporation and Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a New York PR firm representing Johnson and Johnson.
